How To Make And Use A Light Box/Table |
Hello fellow furry artists. Ever have a torn piece of lineart? Ever need to clean up lineart but your eraser couldn't cut it? Ever want to do frame by frame art for animating? Well your in luck! cause I'm gonna show you how to make and use a light box and or table!

Start by measuring and cutting the four pieces to size, you want to cut the side your going to insert your lamp just big enough so that your lamp fits in snuggly. Of course, there are diferent light sources you can use, like LED's, you'll just have to adapt it to your needs and abilities.
Once you have everything cut and secured with small nails, glue, and/or wood screws, coat the base board and sides with the glossy reflective tape or paint. Now it's time to attach the base board. Once that is in place, drill tiny holes into the sides of the plexiglass where your nails or wood screws will attach it to the box. You can glue it in place instead, but it's more durable being nailed or screwed in place, and secure it in place. Slip in your light and your ready to go ^^
Keep in mind when looking for materials, never underestimate junk or trsh, they can be very useful at times ^^
Below are pics of my own light box and an improvised light table. You can also make the box to fit one of those clear clipboards so you'll have a clamp to secure you papers. If you have a glass table like I did, you only need a lamp that points up ^^
Notice in the pics below I use a paper clamp to secure my two pieces of paper neatly together so i can work without the paper shifting.
This makes repairing and cleaning art much faster and easier and is extremly useful for frame by frame art for animating.
I hope this benefits many furry artists. Good luck with your art and keep checking back here for more tutorials ^^ And feel free to send in some of your own as well.
